The panda, also known as the giant panda, is a bear native to the mountainous regions of central China. It is instantly recognizable by its distinctive black and white fur pattern, with black patches around its eyes, ears, and legs. Pandas are known for their love of bamboo shoots, which make up 99% of their diet. They have a gentle and docile nature and are considered a symbol of peace and friendship in Chinese culture. Pandas are an endangered species, with only around 1,800 left in the wild, due to habitat loss and fragmentation. They are also popular zoo animals, and their cute and cuddly appearance makes them a favourite among visitors. Despite their cute appearance, pandas are still bears and can be dangerous when provoked, so it's important to keep a safe distance if you encounter one in the wild.
